Cleaning the Mouse

Over time, the track ball inside the mouse may need to be cleaned. Perform this procedure if it
becomes difficult to direct the pointer when using the mouse.
The following materials are required:
Lint-free cloth
Non-abrasive household cleaning solution
When performing this procedure, be careful not to touch or
depress any of the mouse buttons. Doing so could cause
unexpected results, as the mouse is "live" and the pointer is
To clean the mouse track ball:

Unscrew the cover securing the trackball on the underside of the mouse. Remove the
trackball.

Spray the cloth with the cleaner.

Wipe the trackball, removing any dust and lint.

Do not introduce moisture into the trackball enclosure. If dust is present within the trackball
enclosure, carefully wipe the sides of the enclosure.

Replace the trackball.

Replace the cover.

Wipe the mouse pad.
To clean an optical mouse:
If using an optical mouse, it is only necessary to periodically clean the reflective mouse pad.

Changing the Backup Media

The following materials are required for USB backup systems:
USB flash rive
USB 2.0
4 GB capacity (or greater)
To change USB flash drives:

Remove the USB flash drive that is plugged into the system console.

Insert the alternate flash drive into one of the USB ports on the system console.
