Processing Status Information

Each slide result report confirms if the slide was completely and successfully imaged by the
BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler. If a slide was not successfully processed, a message stating the
reason for the unsuccessful scan accompanies the status.

must be reviewed by a
Cytotechnologist.

Process Review—The instrument
did not complete scanning or
rejected the slide for the reason
indicated. In some cases, the
problem can be corrected and the
slide can be rerun. For problems that
cannot be corrected and rerun, or
upon rerun, still do not complete
scanning, those slides must be
reviewed by a Cytotechnologist.
Rerun—The instrument was not

slide was processed. The slide must
be rerun when the instrument is
functioning properly, or these slides
must be reviewed by a

Rerun—The operator ejected the
tray before the slide could complete
processing or the system
experienced a power failure or
another type of interruption. Such
slides must be either rerun or
reviewed by a Cytotechnologist.
Empty—The system did not detect a
slide in this tray position. If a slide is
present and was not detected, the
slide must be rerun, or these slides
must be reviewed by a
Cytotechnologist.
