BD FocalPoint™ It is important to power down the system components exactly in the
Slide Profiler order shown below:
BD FocalPoint™ The BD FocalPoint™ GS Imaging System contains no user-
Slide Profiler replaceable or serviceable parts. When cleaning the calibration plate,
be careful not to disturb any internal components.
BD FocalPoint™ Shock potential when cleaning with power applied. Always turn off
Slide Profiler the power switch and unplug the power cord before cleaning the
internal components of the device.
BD FocalPoint™ Shock and fire potential. Failure to unplug the monitor from the power
Slide Profiler socket before performing this procedure could result in an electric
shock or fire.
BD FocalPoint™ Do not clean the instrument while it is processing slides.
Slide Profiler
BD FocalPoint™ Shock and fire potential when power applied improperly. The symbol
Slide Profiler next to the power connector indicates potential shock hazard. Ensure
that the system is connected to a power receptacle that provides
voltage and current within the specified rating for the system. Use of
an incompatible power receptacle may produce electrical shock and
fire hazards.
BD FocalPoint™ Shock and fire potential when improperly grounded. Never use a
Slide Profiler two-prong plug adapter to connect primary power to the system. Use
of a two-prong adapter disconnects the utility ground, creating a
potential shock hazard. Always connect the system power cord
directly to an appropriate receptacle with a functional ground.
BD FocalPoint™ The BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler must be positioned in such a
Slide Profile manner that both, the power switch and the AC input are easily
accessible to the operator at all times.Unplug the supply cord from
the main circuit to disconnect the device.
BD FocalPoint™ Protection provided by this equipment may be impaired if it is used in
Slide Profile a manner not consistent with the instructions in this manual.
BD FocalPoint™ The FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler must be grounded at all times. To
Slide Profile ensure that the power cord and outlet strip have the required
electrical current ratings, only use the cord and power strip supplied
with the unit, or as provided by BD.
BD FocalPoint™ Shock and fire potential when improperly grounded. Never use a

BD FocalPoint™ When performing this procedure, be careful not to touch or depress
Slide Profiler any of the mouse buttons. Doing so could cause unexpected results,
as the mouse is "live" and the pointer is wandering around the
screen.
BD FocalPoint™ Only a BD-authorized representative should change the barcode
Slide Profiler reader format. If the barcode reader format needs to be changed,
please contact your authorized service representative for
instructions.
