Put the seal on the shaft with the smooth
side up and press down carefully.
Use the thick end of 1/4" extension to
carefully tap down the seal until the top of
the seal is level with the top edge of the
shaft housing. Move the extension in a
circle around the seal so that it is tapped
down easily all the way round.
Remove the insulation tape from the shaft
and fit the lower circlip and belt pulley
with the hexagonal hub face up.
Fit the fan with washer and the top circlip.
Seal Change on Output Shafts
1.
Remove the retaining rings holding the
wheels to the shafts and remove the
wheels by pulling them out. Do not
misplace the key that is between the
wheels and the shaft.
2.
Remove the spacer sleeves and washers.
Keep track of the number of washers as
this can vary between sides.
iMPOrTANT iNFOrMATiON
Dirt must not be allowed in the
transmission as it could shorten the
service life.
3.
Clean all the dirt and rust from the output
shaft and the area around the seal.
4.
Insert a screwdriver between the seal
and the shaft and prise the seal out of the
shaft housing with a twisting motion.
A small amount of oil may leak out.
