Change of Hydrostat Shaft Seals
Seal Change on input Shaft
Remove the cooling fan, held by a circlip.
Remove the belt pulley from the input shaft by
pulling it up and then dismantling the circlip
under the belt pulley.
iMPOrTANT iNFOrMATiON
The area around the seal must be
absolutely clean! if the hydrostat oil
becomes contaminated by dirt it may lead
to a shorter service life of the hydrostat.
1. Clean all the dirt and rust from the input
shaft and the area around the seal. Insert
a screwdriver between the seal and the
shaft and prise the seal out of the shaft
housing with a twisting motion.
2. Wind insulating tape around the input
shaft to protect the new seal from being
damaged by splines and grooves. Start
winding from the bottom and continue up
over the shaft until all of it is covered in
tape. Grease the shaft and inside the new
seal so that the seal slides on easily.
