Checking and Adjusting the
Steering Cables
The steering is controlled with cables.
These can stretch after a time, which means
the steering settings can change.
Steering can be checked and adjusted in the
following way:
1.
Remove the frame plate by loosening the
screws.
2.
Make sure the cables are lying correctly
under the steering cable rollers in the
frame tunnel. Check the tension of the
steering cables and clamp them together
(at the arrows). The cables should clamp
together so that the distance between
them is half as much without applying too
much force.
Change the cable if a strand is damaged
so loose wires do not stick out.
3.
If necessary, the cable can be stretched
by loosening the locking nut and
tightening the adjuster nut (one cable on
each side of the machine).
Hold the cable with e.g. a wrench so that
it does not twist. The center position of
the steering wheel will be changed if only
one side is adjusted.
Do not stretch the cables too much, they
should only tighten against the steering
collar.
Check the cable tension after adjustment
as described in point 2.
