When SMS is received

Receive SMS automatically (U flashes).

After reception, the receive complete screen
appears and the SMS ring tone sounds ([
appears).
: If no operations are performed in the receive complete screen
for approximately 30 seconds, the screen before reception
automatically reappears.
: The stock icon C (mail message) appears when the stand-by
display reappears.
: When the FOMA terminal is closed, sender's phone number
appears in the sub display. Name appears if sender is saved to
the phonebook. [Receive complete] appears if SMS that cannot
be replied to is received. After that, the total number of i-mode
mail, SMS and Area Mail appears.

Select [Mail]/select the SMS/t.
Checking new SMS
<Check new SMS>
Received SMS is held at the SMS center while the handset is outside
the service area, in Self mode, or turned off. Retrieve from the SMS
center.

In stand-by, press m/[Check new SMS].
Automatic retrieval may not start immediately after checking.
SMS cannot be received when the FOMA terminal handset and
the FOMA card memory are full. Delete/View unread SMS or
disable protection. Read SMS or unprotected SMS are overwritten
in order from the oldest first.
Replying to received SMS

In the received SMS details screen, press
[Reply/Forward]/[Reply].

Compose and send an SMS.
Forwarding received SMS

[Reply/Forward]/[Forward].

Enter an address and send an SMS.
