The EC-1100 cabinet supports a maximum of 96 ports, in many
combinations of ED-1032s, ED-64Ms, and DS-xxMs. As an example,
an EC-1100 in the field with one ED-1032 already installed could
accept up to 64 additional ports, by adding one of the following to the
EC-1100 that contains the ED-1032:
1 ED-64M, or
1 DS-32M and 2 DS-16Ms, or
4 DS-16Ms
Figure 1-12 shows four examples of allowable maximum
configurations when upgrading an existing EC-1100 cabinet that
already contains one Connectrix Director.
One Connectrix ED-140M can replace one ED-1032 in an EC-1100 cabinet;
however, the cabinet cannot contain both an ED-1032 and an ED-140M.
Therefore, if the cabinet contains two ED-1032s, both must be removed to
install a ED-140M.
