When planning for the use of LC-SC adapter cables (shown in
Figure 5-2), it is important to consider keeping the junction point of
the SC-SC adapter outside the cabinet, due to the size and bulk of the
adapter. Therefore, it is recommended that switches in the lower half
of the cabinet use the 1-meter adapter cables. Switches installed in the
upper half of the cabinet should use the 3-meter adapter cables, so the
junction point of the two cables will be outside the cabinet.
