Table 5-4 lists the types of user rights that can be assigned for
Connectrix Manager.

Connectrix Manager User Rights

Operator Access Allowed
The user can view configurations and status, but cannot make changes. These rights
are the default if no other user rights are assigned.
The user can view status information, configuration information, and logs, and perform
limited operational control changes, such as blocking ports and placing the switch on
line or off line.
The user can make control and configuration changes in the Connectrix Manager
software.
The user can perform all operations that are possible in the Connectrix Manager
software. The maintenance operator can also perform diagnostics, log maintenance,
firmware loads, and data collection.
The Connectrix administrator determines whether to allow access to
switches from remote user workstations. If the administrator allows
remote sessions, access can be limited to specific workstations by
configuring the network addresses of those workstations through the
Connectrix Manager application.
When a remote session is allowed, the remote user has the same
rights and permissions as if the session were on the Connectrix
service processor. Up to nine sessions can be active simultaneously
(one local and eight remote).
Passwords are encrypted when sent across the network.
