Device placement requirements

(CX3-10 Class and CX3-20 Class Storage Systems)
This document explains how to install CX3-series hardware in cabinets
that conform to the National Electrical Manufacturer's Association
(NEMA) standards for 19-inch cabinets (in which the left and right
mounting channels are 19 inches apart). It covers mounting hardware
for SPS, SPE3, and DAE3P components, and describes how to cable the
system to AC power and set up the back-end (disk I/O) bus. In most
cases, the illustrations and examples refer to standard cabinets that are
40U tall.
Topics are:
Device placement requirements ......................................................... 1
Device height requirements ................................................................ 5
Power requirements ............................................................................. 4
Setting up an installed storage system ............................................ 28
Note: Instructions for adding switches to a storage system are included in the
device-specific documentation that accompanies the switch.
This document provides the steps required to install rails and enclosures
in both EMC and non-EMC cabinets. Unless otherwise specified, the
illustrations depict the 40U-C cabinet.
