Failure

If the Connectrix Manager server fails, backup configuration data
from the server (saved through the QuikSync application to a
removable Zip disk) is installed to any client service processor, and
the client is reconfigured as the new Connectrix Manager server.
Critical information stored in the EMC Connectrix Manager data
directory is automatically backed up to the Zip disk when the data
directory contents change.
To reconfigure a client service processor:
1. Ensure the server is powered off or is off the network.
2. Remove the Zip disk from the drive at the failed Connectrix
Manager server PC. Insert the disk into the Zip drive of the client
service processor PC.
3. At the Windows NT desktop, click Start, Programs, Windows NT
Explorer. This displays the Exploring window.
4. At the root (C:) directory, rename the EfcData folder to
EfcDataBackup, then copy the EfcData folder from the Zip drive
to the root directory as a replacement.
5. Close the Exploring window. Leave the Zip disk in the PC drive
for QuikSync backup.
6. Perform the following steps to reboot the client:
a. Click Start, then Shut Down from the Windows NT task bar.
b. At the Shut Down Windows dialog box, select Restart and
click Yes.
7. When prompted, press (simultaneously)
the Windows NT Logon Information dialog box. Type the user
name and password and click OK.
If required, obtain the user name and password from the customer or
next level of support. The default user name is Administrator, and the
default password is password.
8. After a brief period, the EMC Connectrix Manager application
automatically opens and the EMC Connectrix Manager Login
window appears.
