Connectrix v6.02 Planning Guide
The Connectrix Balanced Fabric (CBF) environment can be scaled
from 32 ports to 2048 ports. A 32-port CBF would be built with two
DS-16Ms. A 2048-port CBF would be built with two fabrics consisting
of 16 ED-64Ms each.
Version 6.02 of Connectrix extends the capability of Connectrix
fabrics as follows:
Any combination of ED-140M, ED-64M, and DS-xxM, up to total
of 16 units.
The CLARiiON environment currently supports a maximum of eight
switches. Please consult your local EMC CLARiiON Customer Service
representative for the latest information.
The ED-1032 supports a fabric size of 16 switches; however, zoning
constraints in the ED-1032 may reduce this number. When including an
ED-1032 in a fabric larger than 255 ports, pay careful attention to the
zoning constraints documented below.
Single-HBA zoning, WWN-based.
For a fabric of three or more switches, any one switch must
connect to two or more other switches in the fabric.
Server and storage heterogeneity is supported over the ISLs.
Any ISL can be shortwave or longwave.
