During a V2/V3 to V6 Connectrix Manager upgrade or following a
fabric merge, there may be violations of the V6 Connectrix Manager
character set in the Zoning Library or in the new active zone set.
These violations are benign for the fabric; however, in the case of a
fabric merge, when the user saves the active zone set to the Zoning
Library, Connectrix Manager will automatically convert
non-conforming names using the following algorithm:
1.
Test the first character to see if it is a letter (A through Z or
a through z). If the character is non-conforming, an x_ will be
prepended to the name. If this causes the name to be too long,
then the last two characters will be truncated.
2.
Test the entire name for invalid characters, and replace any found
with an underscore (_).
3.
Test to see if the new name already exists. If the name exists,
append _# where # will be the first available number from 1 to
200. If this causes the name to become too long, the last four
characters will be removed prior to appending the _# string.
