Fabric WWN Assignment

The Connectrix Manager Fabric Manager application identifies
fabrics using a fabric World Wide Name (WWN). The fabric WWN is
the same as the WWN of the fabric's principal switch. If a new
principal switch is selected because of a change to the fabric topology,
the fabric WWN changes to the WWN of the newly selected principal
switch.
If Connectrix Manager is being used to manage more than one fabric,
care must be taken to avoid applying the Zone Set for one fabric to
the wrong fabric. This mistake can bring down all servers in a fabric.
Since the principal switch can change, it is best not to associate a Zone
Set with the WWN or nickname of the principal switch. A safer
practice is to give each switch in a fabric a name with a prefix such as
A_ or B_; then prefix the name of the Zone Set with the same string.
To use this practice to full advantage, select Product Name as the
display option in the Fabric Manager Topology view.
