The Connectrix Service Processor mounted on the door of the
EC-1200 is dedicated to Connectrix Management Services, a back-end
application (transparent to the user) that provides management
services to the Connectrix Manager and its associated Product
Manager and Fabric Manager applications.
Connectrix Management Services also implements Web and other
server functions.
CAUTION

The Connectrix service processor is dedicated to Connectrix
Management Services and Connectrix Manager, and should not be
used for other tasks. Loading additional applications or use of the
service processor for other purposes may damage its performance.
Connectrix Management Services and the Connectrx Manager run
exclusively on the service processor, while platform-dependent Connectrix
Manager Clients can be downloaded from the service processor to remote
workstations.
The Connectrix Management Services application provides the
following services to the Connectrix Manager and its associated
Product Manager and Fabric Manager applications:
Session management for one or more Connectrix service
processor network connections
A centralized database repository for configuration files, system
logs, firmware upgrades, and other system elements, plus
automated backup to the Zip drive of all configuration files
Remote support and fault isolation services
Establishment and maintenance of all network connections to
managed products
Product configuration management
Event and audit logging, plus initiation of user notification and
call-home
Network management and File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
