Procedure in the system
1. Stop the DHCP service if it is running.
2. Check and start the rarpd service.
3. Check and start the tftpd service.
4. Create or update the install macro in /var/dhcp/dhcptab with
dhtadm -A -m ${MACRO} -d":Include=${LAN_Macro}:BootSrvA=

5. Create the remote DHCP network table /var/dhcp/yyy_yyy_yyy_yyy with
pntadm -C yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy if the client is in a different subnet to the server.
6. Create or update the local or remote LAN macro in /var/dhcp/dhcptab with
dhtadm -A -m xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -d
${GATEWAY_IP}:"
7. Enter the client information in the local or remote DHCP network table
/var/dhcp/xxx_xxx_xxx_xxx or /var/dhcp/yyy_yyy_yyy_yyy with
pntadm -A ${IP_ADDR} -f BOOTP -h ${CLIENT_NAME} -i
${ETHER_ADDR} -m ${MACRO} xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
or
pntadm -A ${IP_ADDR} -f BOOTP -h ${CLIENT_NAME} -i
${ETHER_ADDR} -m ${MACRO} yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy
The choice of table depends on whether or not the client is in the same sub-
net as the server.
8. Restart the DHCP service in BOOTP mode.
