CAUTION
The Zero Check terminal can be used for the service purpose only. For the B1500A
normal operation, leave this terminal open and do not connect anything to this
terminal. Connecting anything can damage the B1500A.
8. GNDU terminal
0 V constant voltage source. Used for the reference of measurement ground.
Triaxial connector.
9. LAN interface
RJ45 connector.
10. USB interfaces
USB, 2 ports. For keyboard, mouse, or peripherals. USB keyboard and USB
mouse are available as option.
To remove USB devices from the B1500A, use "Safely Remove Hardware" on
Windows taskbar. If it is not used, the B1500A may cause the internal USB
communication error. If the error occurs, turn the B1500A off and disconnect the
power cable from the B1500A. Leave it about 30 seconds before rebooting the
B1500A, and connect the power cable again, and then turn the B1500A on.
11. Ext Trig terminals
Two BNC connectors, one for trigger input, and one for trigger output. For
details about the trigger function, see Programming Guide.
12. Digital I/O terminal
DSUB 25 pin connector. Can be used for the trigger input/output terminals or an
interface to control an external relay circuit and so on. For details, see
Programming Guide. This connector is also used to connect Agilent 16445A
selector adapter.
13. Interlock terminal
Used in conjunction with the interlock function of the B1500A. If the Interlock
terminal is open, maximum SMU output is limited to ±42 V. Be sure to connect
this terminal to the interlock circuit of the 16442B test fixture (B1500A-A5F) or
the prober station before performing measurement. For the interlock circuit, see
"To Make an Interlock Circuit" on page 3-29.
To verify the interlock function, perform the interlock open/close test on the
Main Frame tab screen of the EasyEXPERT Configuration window.
