1. Remove the ball bearing (9) with a puller.
2. Remove the stake of lock nut (8).
3. Secure the rear axle (1) in a vise and remove the lock nut.
4. Take out the gear (7) and spacer (5).
5. Tap out the rear axle (1).
(When reassembling)
• Apply grease to the oil seal (2) and install it.
• Replace the lock nut with new one, and after tightening it to
specified torque, stake it firmly.
• Assemble the oil seal (2) with correct direction. (See figure on
the left.)

Checking Bearing
1. Hold the inner race, and push and pull the outer race in all
directions to check for wear and roughness.
2. Apply transmission fluid to the bearing, and hold the inner race.
Then turn the outer race to check rotation.
3. If there is any defect, replace it.
