Set-Up Procedure

N : If you are setting up a truck with
OTE
factory-installed wire guidance, skip to
1. Install the wire guidance kit components.
See "Install Kit Components" on page 8-3.
2. If necessarv, flash the latest version of
software through Flashware. See "Flash
Memory Program" on page 10-6.
3. Turn on the wire guidance option in
FlashWare" on page 8-9.
4. Perform the Guidance Parameter Setup to
set the distance from wire and heading
angle ~ a r a m e t e r s . See "Guidance
Parameter Setup" on page 8-9.
5.
Learn the guide wire frequency. See "Learn
Guide Wire Frequency" on page 8- 10.
6. Learn the guide wire offsets. See "Learn
Wire Guidance Offsets" on page 8- 10.
7. Perform the Guidance Check to make sure
the truck can steer on the wire properly.
See "Guidance Check" on page 8- 1 1.
Enable Wire Guidance in
FlashWare
N : For complete instructions on FlashWare,
OTE
See "Software Configuration" on
page 10-1.
1. Make sure the latest version of FlashWare
is installed in the truck. If not, flash load
the latest version. See "Flash Memory
Program" on page 10-6.
2. From the main menu, type
the prompt.
3. From the options menu, use your arrow
keys to move to the Wire Guidance prompt
and press the enter key.
4. In the box that appears on the left, type in
the 4-digit authorization code you
obtained from the Toyota Parts
Distribution Center.
5. Type y a t the Wire Guidance prompt, and
follow the instructions a t the bottom of the
screen.

6. From the main menu, type
Configurable Items a t the prompt. Make
sure the settings are correct for the
guidance application. Change settings if
necessary.
N : To change these settings:
OTE
Use the up and down arrows to select
the options.
Use the left arrow to decrease values,
and the right arrow to increase values.
7. After changing the truck configuration:
Truck restarts automatically
Horn beeps when self-diagnostics is
finished
Screen returns to the main menu
8. Type x to exit FlashWare.

Guidance Parameter Setup

1. Connect the FlashWare program to the
truck.

Guidance in FlashWare" on page 8-9.
3. At the prompt on the Main Menu, type
for Setup Configuration Items and press
Enter key.
4. Set the following parameters in the Truck
Configure Menu.
Distance From Wire Slow
Distance From Wire Stop
Heading Angle Slow
Heading Angle Stop
N : If wire guidance is turned off in
OTE
will display the lift cutout threshold
only.
5. Type x to save these parameters and exit
this menu.
