Chapter 6 Basic Setting
DESCRIPTION
This field displays t he preferred lifet im e of an I Pv6 address generat ed from t he prefix.
Check t he ent ry( ies) t hat you want t o rem ove in t he D e le t e colum n and t hen click
D e le t e t o rem ove t he select ed ent ry( ies) from t he sum m ary t able.
Click Ca nce l t o clear t he D e le t e check boxes.
DESCRIPTION
Select t he t ype of I Pv6 int erface for which you want t o configure. The Swit ch support s
t he VLAN int erface t ype for I Pv6 at t he t im e of writ ing.
Specify a unique ident ificat ion num ber ( from 1 t o 4094) for t he int erface.
Note: A static IPv6 neighbor entry displays in the Management > Neighbor Table
screen only when the interface ID is also created in the Basic Setup > Interface
Setup screen.
Note: To have IPv6 function properly, you should configure a static VLAN with the same
ID number in the Advanced Setup > VLAN screens.
Specify t he I Pv6 address of t he neighboring device which can be reached t hrough t he
int erface.
Specify t he MAC address of t he neighboring device which can be reached t hrough t he
int erface.
Click t his t o creat e a new ent ry or t o updat e an exist ing one.
This saves your changes t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses t hese
changes if it is t urned off or loses pow er, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op navigat ion
panel t o save your changes t o t he nonvolat ile m em ory when you are done configuring.
