This is a sam ple FTP session saving t he current configurat ion t o a file called " config.cfg" on your
com put er.
I f your ( T) FTP client does not allow you t o have a dest inat ion filenam e different t han t he source,
you will need t o renam e t hem as t he Swit ch only recognizes " config", " ras- 0", and " ras- 1". Be sure
you keep unalt ered copies of bot h files for lat er use.
Be sure to upload the correct model firmware as uploading the wrong
model firmware may damage your device.

47.9.2 FTP Command Line Procedure

Launch t he FTP client on your com put er.
2 Ent er open, followed by a space and t he I P address of your Swit ch.
3 Press [ENTER] when prom pt ed for a usernam e ( t he default is " adm in" ) .

Ent er your password as request ed ( t he default is " 1234" ) .
5 Ent er bin t o set t ransfer m ode t o binary.
6 Use put t o t ransfer files from t he com put er t o t he Swit ch, for exam ple, put firmware.bin ras-0
t ransfers t he firm ware on your com put er ( firm ware.bin) t o t he Swit ch and renam es it t o " ras- 0".
Sim ilarly, put config.cfg config t ransfers t he configurat ion file on your com put er ( config.cfg) t o
t he Swit ch and renam es it t o " config". Likewise get config config.cfg t ransfers t he configurat ion
file on t he Swit ch t o your com put er and renam es it t o " config.cfg". See

This is when a user I .D. and password is aut om at ically supplied t o t he server for
anonym ous access. Anonym ous logins will w ork only if your I SP or service
adm inist rat or has enabled t his opt ion.
Norm al.
The server requires a unique User I D and Password t o login.
Transfer files in eit her ASCI I ( plain t ext form at ) or in binary m ode. Configurat ion
and firm ware files should be t ransferred in binary m ode.
