48.3.7 Configuring SNMP User
From t he SN M P screen, click Use r t o view t he screen as shown. Use t he Use r screen t o creat e
SNMP users for aut hent icat ion wit h m anagers using SNMP v3 and associat e t hem t o SNMP groups.
An SNMP user is an SNMP m anager.

DESCRIPTION
This field displays a port num ber. I n st acking m ode, t he first num ber represent s t he slot
and t he second t he port num ber.
Set t ings in t his row apply t o all port s for t he Swit ch represent ed by t he slot I D ( in st acking
m ode) .
Use t his row only if you want t o m ake som e of t he set t ings t he sam e for all port s. Use t his
row first t o set t he com m on set t ings and t hen m ake adj ust m ent s on a port- by- port basis.
Note: Changes in this row are copied to all the ports as soon as you make them.
Select t his check box t o enable t he sending of SNMP t raps on t his port . The Swit ch sends
t he relat ed t raps received on t his port t o t he SNMP m anager.
Clear t his check box t o disable t he sending of SNMP t raps on t his port .
Click Apply t o save your changes t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses
t hese changes if it is t urned off or loses power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op navigat ion
panel t o save your changes t o t he non- volat ile m em ory when you are done configuring.
Click Ca n ce l t o begin configuring t his screen afresh.
DESCRIPTION
Note: Use the username and password of the login accounts you specify in this screen to
create accounts on the SNMP v3 manager.
Specify t he usernam e of a login account on t he Swit ch.
