Note: You must first enable MAC authentication on the Switch before configuring it on each
port.
Nam e Prefix Type t he prefix t hat is appended t o all MAC addresses sent t o t he RADI US server for
aut hent icat ion. You can ent er up t o 32 print able ASCI I charact ers.
I f you leave t his field blank, t hen only t he MAC address of t he client is forwarded t o t he
RADI US server.
Password Type t he password t he Swit ch sends along wit h t he MAC address of a client for
aut hent icat ion wit h t he RADI US server. You can ent er up t o 32 print able ASCI I charact ers.
Tim eout Specify t he am ount of t im e before t he Swit ch allows a client MAC address t hat fails
aut hent icat ion t o t ry and aut hent icat e again. Maxim um t im e is 3000 seconds.
When a client fails MAC aut hent icat ion, it s MAC address is learned by t he MAC address
t able wit h a st at us of denied. The t im eout period you specify here is t he t im e t he MAC
address ent ry st ays in t he MAC address t able unt il it is cleared. I f you specify 0 for t he
t im eout value, t he Swit ch uses t he Agin g Tim e configured in t he Sw it ch Se t u p screen.
Note: If the Aging Time in the Switch Setup screen is set to a lower value, then it
supersedes this setting. See
Slot ( St acking This field appears only in st acking m ode. Click t he drop- down list t o choose t he slot
