configurat ion and capabilit ies. OAM discovery is a handshake prot ocol.
Fa u lt : One of t he devices is t ransm it t ing OAM PDUs wit h link fault inform at ion, or t he
int erface is not operat ional.
Act ive Se n d Loca l: The port is in act ive m ode and is t rying t o see if t he rem ot e
device support s OAM.
Pa ssive W a it : The port is in passive m ode and is wait ing for t he rem ot e device t o
begin OAM discovery.
Se n d Loca l Re m ot e : This st at e occurs in t he following circum st ances.

operat ing st at e for OAM links t hat are fully operat ional.
