Filt er Aging Tim e
Filt er aging t im e This set t ing has no effect on exist ing MAC address filt ers.
Ent er how long ( 1- 2147483647 seconds) t he MAC address filt er rem ains in t he Swit ch
aft er t he Swit ch ident ifies an unaut horized ARP packet . The Swit ch aut om at ically delet es
t he MAC address filt er aft erwards. Type 0 if you want t he MAC address filt er t o be
perm anent .
Log Profile
Log buffer size Ent er t he m axim um num ber ( 1- 1024) of log m essages t hat were generat ed by ARP
packet s and have not been sent t o t he syslog server yet . Make sure t his num ber is
appropriat e for t he specified Syslog r a t e and Log in t e r va l.
I f t he num ber of log m essages in t he Switch exceeds t his num ber, t he Swit ch st ops
recording log m essages and sim ply st art s count ing t he num ber of ent ries t hat were
dropped due t o unavailable buffer. Click Cle a r ing log st a t u s t a ble in t he ARP
I n spe ct ion Log St a t u s screen t o clear t he log and reset t his count er. See
25.7.2 on page
Syslog rat e Type t he m axim um num ber of syslog m essages t he Swit ch can send t o t he syslog
server in one bat ch. This num ber is expressed as a rat e because t he bat ch frequency is
det erm ined by t he Log I n t e r va l. You m ust configure t he syslog server (
page
generat ed by ARP packet s t o t he syslog server.
