I n norm al leave m ode, when t he Swit ch receives an I GMP leave m essage from a host on a
port , it forwards t he m essage t o t he m ult icast rout er. The m ult icast rout er t hen sends out
an I GMP Group- Specific Query ( GSQ) m essage t o det erm ine whet her ot her host s
connect ed t o t he port should rem ain in t he specific m ult icast group. The Swit ch forwards
t he query m essage t o all host s connect ed t o t he port and wait s for I GMP report s from
host s t o updat e t he forwarding t able.
This defines how m any seconds t he Swit ch wait s for an I GMP report before rem oving an
I GMP snooping m em bership ent ry when an I GMP leave m essage is received on t his port
from a host .

This helps speed up t he leave process.
This defines how m any seconds t he Swit ch wait s for an I GMP report before rem oving an
I GMP snooping m em bership ent ry when an I GMP leave m essage is received on t his port
from a host .
Group Lim it ed Select t his opt ion t o lim it t he num ber of m ult icast groups t his port is allowed t o j oin.
Max Group Num . Ent er t he num ber of m ult icast groups t his port is allowed t o j oin. Once a port is regist ered
in t he specified num ber of m ult icast groups, any new I GMP j oin report fram e( s) is
dropped on t his port .

num ber of t he I GMP groups a port can j oin is reached.
Select D e ny t o drop any new I GMP j oin report received on t his port unt il an exist ing

Select Re pla ce t o replace an exist ing ent ry in t he m ult icast forwarding t able wit h t he new
I GMP report ( s) received on t his port .
I GMP Filt ering Select t he nam e of t he I GMP filt ering profile t o use for t his port . Ot herwise, select
Profile D e fa u lt t o prohibit t he port from j oining any m ult icast group.

I GMP Querier The Swit ch t reat s an I GMP query port as being connect ed t o an I GMP m ult icast rout er ( or
Mode server) . The Swit ch forwards I GMP j oin or leave packet s t o an I GMP query port .
Select Au t o t o have t he Swit ch use t he port as an I GMP query port if t he port receives
I GMP query packet s.
Select Fix e d t o have t he Swit ch always use t he port as an I GMP query port . Select t his
when you connect an I GMP m ult icast server t o t he port .
Select Edge t o st op t he Swit ch from using t he port as an I GMP query port . The Swit ch will
not keep any record of an I GMP rout er being connect ed t o t his port . The Swit ch does not
forward I GMP j oin or leave packet s t o t his port .
Apply Click Apply t o save your changes t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses
t hese changes if it is t urned off or loses power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op navigat ion
panel t o save your changes t o t he non- volat ile m em ory when you are done configuring.
Cancel Click Ca n ce l t o begin configuring t his screen afresh.
