An IP address is configured for the XGE sub-interface. The XGE sub-interface is on the
same network segment as the VLANIF interface configured in
"Configuring Layer 3 Flow Import on the S9700 Switch Without Interface Aggregation."
Run:
arp broadcast enable
The ARP broadcast function is enabled on the sub-interface.
When you enable or disable the ARP broadcast function on a sub-interface, the routing
status on the sub-interface becomes Down and then Up. This may result in route flapping
on the entire network, affecting the service operation.
Run:
quit
Exit from the XGE sub-interface view.
Run:
interface xgigabitethernet interface-number.subinterface-number
The sub-interface view is displayed. Traffic is exported from the SPU through this sub-
interface.
Run:
control-vid vid dot1q-termination
The VLAN to which the Eth-Trunk sub-interface belongs is specified and the encapsulation
mode of the sub-interface is configured.
Run:
dot1q termination vid low-pe-vid [ to high-pe-vid ]
The sub-interface is configured to allow the VLAN configured in
"Configuring Layer 3 Flow Import on the S9700 Switch Without Interface Aggregation."
Run:
ip address ip-address { mask | mask-length } [ sub ]
An IP address is configured for the XGE sub-interface. This IP address is on the same
network segment as the destination IP address of traffic.
Run:
arp broadcast enable
The ARP broadcast function is enabled on the Eth-Trunk sub-interface.
When you enable or disable the ARP broadcast function on a sub-interface, the routing
status on the sub-interface becomes Down and then Up. This may result in route flapping
on the entire network, affecting the service operation.
