The left pane of the project window displays the names and symbols of all containers
of a project in the form of a folder tree.
Each element of a project structure is called an object in DIGSI.
Each object has properties. These might be general properties that are common to
several objects. An object can also have specific properties.
In offline mode a link with the SIPROTEC 4 device is not necessary. You work with
data which are stored in files.

When working in online mode, there is a physical link to a SIPROTEC 4 device which
can be implemented in various ways. This link can be implemented as a direct con-
nection, as a modem connection or as a PROFIBUS FMS connection.

The parameter set is the set of all parameters that can be set for a SIPROTEC 4
device.
User addresses for a modem connection are saved in this object type.
Pulse metered value
Devices featuring a process bus interface can communicate directly with the SICAM
HV modules. The process bus interface is equipped with an Ethernet module.
PROcess FIeld BUS, the German process and field bus standard, as specified in the
standard EN 50170, Volume 2, PROFIBUS. It defines the functional, electrical, and
mechanical properties for a bit-serial field bus.
Within a PROFIBUS network a unique PROFIBUS address has to be assigned to
each SIPROTEC 4 device. A total of 254 PROFIBUS addresses are available for each
PROFIBUS network.
