Steering Gearbox Overhaul (cont'd)
Special Tools Required
• Locknut wrench 07ZAA-S5A0100
• Pincers, Oetiker 1098 or equivalent, commercially
available.
NOTE:
• Refer to the Exploded View as needed during this
procedure.
• Do not allow dust, dirt, or other foreign materials to
enter into the steering gearbox.
Removal
1. Remove the steering gearbox (see page 17-511.
Disassembly
2. Unbend the lock washer (AI.

3. Hold the bracket (AI with one wrench, and unscrew
both tie-rod ends (61 with another wrench. Remove
the lock washers.

4. Remove the stop plate (AI, the 12 mm flange bolts
(6)' the O-rings (CI, and the bracket (DI from the
steering gearbox.
5. Loosen the locknut (AI, then remove the rack guide
screw (61, spring (CI, disc washer (DI, and rack
guide (EI from the steering gearbox.
