MIL Circuit Troubleshooting (cont'd)
67. Check lor continuity between ECM connector
terminal A20 and body ground.
ECM CONNECTOR A (31PI

Wire side of female terminals
Is there continuity?
YES-Repair short in the wire between the ECM
(A20) and the TP sensor, or repair short in the wire
between the ECM (A8) and the knock sensor .•
NO-Update the ECM il it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a known-good ECM, then
recheck (see page 11-6). II the symptom/indication
goes away with a known-good ECM, replace the
original ECM .•

connector terminal E5.

YES- Update the ECM il it does not have the latest

recheck (see page 11-6). II the symptom/indication
goes away with a known-good ECM, replace the

NO-Go to step 69.
69. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
70. Disconnect the luel tank pressure (FTP) sensor 3P
connector.
71. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
