(2) Lubricate caliper mounting bolts, collars, bush­
ings and bores with Dow 111, or GE 661 silicone
grease as follows:
(a) On 1/2 ton models with 75 mm caliper, apply
silicone grease to mounting pins and collars. Then
fill space between bushings in caliper as shown
(Fig. 16).
(b) On 3/4 and 1 ton models with 80 or 86 mm
calipers, coat mounting pin and interior of bushing
with silicone grease as shown (Fig. 17).
(3) Install inboard brakeshoe in caliper. Be sure
spring clip on shoe is properly aligned and seated in
caliper piston (Fig. 18 and 19).
(4) Install outboard brakeshoe in caliper. Be sure
spring ends are seated in dimples in caliper (Fig. 19).

(5) Install caliper over rotor and into steering
knuckle mounting arms. Be sure caliper is seated
flush on mounting arm surfaces as shown (Fig.
20).
(6) Start caliper mounting bolts by hand to avoid
cross threading. Then tighten mounting bolts to 51
N-m (38 ft.lbs.) torque.
(7) Install wheel and tire assemblies.
(8) Lower vehicle and tighten wheel lug nuts to fol­
lowing torque:
• 108-150 N-m (80-110 ft. lbs.) on 5 stud wheel
