The Magnos206 analyzer module has at least one sample component normally
with four measurement ranges.
Zero Calibration:
Oxygen-free process gas or substitute gas
Span Calibration: Process gas with a known oxygen concentration or a
substitute gas such as dried air
Highly suppressed measurement ranges (≥95-100 Vol.-% O
calibrated with test gases with O
range.
During calibration cross-sensitivity and / or carrier gas corrections by other meas-
urement components are switched off. Therefore, a corrected measurement com-
ponent should be calibrated only using a test gas consisting of the measurement
component and an inert gas like N
If test gases are not available for calibration, the Magnos206 analyzer module can
be factory-set for calibration with substitute gases (see the "Calibration Methods"
section, page 8-A-10).
Substitute gas calibration of the Magnos206 analyzer module is described using
the example of "Purity Measurement in CO
Single-point calibration of the Magnos206 analyzer module is described on page
8-C-7.
If suppressed measurement ranges with a suppression ratio of ≥ 1:5 are set in the
Magnos206 analyzer module, the pressure sensor has been specially adjusted at
the factory. In this case, only a common calibration should be done (not a single
or substitute gas calibration).
Zero point calibration must always precede end point calibration.
The Magnos206 analyzer module should only be calibrated after the warm-up
phase, i.e. approx. 1 hour after connecting the power supply.
