code No. P0603, P0605, PI605
PCM has experienced a power interrupt in Keep Alive Power (KAPWR) circuit or Read
Onlv Memow (ROM) test error.

Note: If KAPWR is interrupted to PCM (i.e. when
battery is disconnected or breakout box is installed),
DTC P0603/P0605/P1605 may be generated on the first
power-up.
lnspect battery cables for loose connections or corrosion.
Are the battery terminal connections in good condition?
Yes
Go to next step.
No
Repair battery terminal.
Go to step 5.

lnspect EEC-V wiring for proximity to ignition components
Yes
Reroute as necessary.

or wires.
Go to step 5.
Is wiring too close to ignition components or wires?

NO
GO to next step.

Disconnect breakout box and reconnect all components.
Cycle ignition switch on and off 40 times.
Key ON, engine off.
Activate KOEO self-test.

Is DTC P0603/P0605/P1605 present?

Yes
Isolate and repair or replace open c~rcu~t In
KAPWR circuit.
Go to step 5

Key OFF.
Disconnect PCM.
lnspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion or
loose wires.
Install breakout box, leave PCM disconnected.
Measure voltage between KAPWR test pin 55 and PWR
GND test pins 51 or 103 at breakout box while performing
the following:

Go to next step.
-Wiggle, grasp, shake or bend harness to PCM.

Is voltage reading less than 10.5 volts?
Yes

Replace PCM.
Go to next step.
No

Repair other DTCs as necessary.

If none, testing is complete.

Perform After Repair Procedure to ensure customer's concern has been resolved
