SERVICE INFORMATION

GENERAL
• This section covers removal and installation of the body panels and exhaust system.
• Serious burns may result if the exhaust system is not allowed to cool before components are removed or serviced.
• Always replace the exhaust system gaskets with new ones after removing the exhaust system.
• When installing the exhaust system, loosely install all of the exhaust pipe fasteners. Always tighten the exhaust pipe
joint nuts first, then tighten the mounting fasteners.
• Always inspect the exhaust system for leaks after installation.

Exhaust pipe joint stud bolt
Muffler band bolt
Rear carrier bolt
Muffler mounting bolt
Exhaust chamber mounting bolt
Exhaust pipe joint nut
Pillion step holder bolt
Sidestand pivot bolt
Sidestand pivot lock nut

TROUBLESHOOTING

Excessive exhaust noise
• Broken exhaust system
• Exhaust gas leaks
Poor performance
• Deformed exhaust system
• Exhaust gas leaks
• Clogged muffler
