REAR BRAKE PADS

Check the brake pad for wear.

Replace the brake pads if either pad is worn to the

XL700VA only:

wear limit groove.

Replace the brake pads if either pad is worn any-

XL700V only:

where to a thickness of 1 mm (0.04 in).

For brake pad replacement (page 15-17).

Always replace the

brake pads as a set

to assure even disc

This model is equipped with a Combined Brake Sys-

XL700VA only:

Check the front and rear brake operation as follows:

Support the motorcycle securely and raise the front

wheel off the ground.

Apply the rear brake pedal.

Make sure the front wheel does not turn while the

rear brake pedal is applied.
