IPIT
The IPIT feature tests the proper functioning of the input circuit breaker (ICB). The ICB must
function correctly or the drive will be inhibited thereby preventing drive operation.
Drives equipped with NXGPro+ control require an input circuit breaker to protect the drive. Refer
to the corresponding VFD Operating Instructions manual supplied with the drive for further
information on the coordinated input protection scheme.
Note
Drives produced prior to NXGPro+ may not be equipped with an ICB.
The IPIT feature requires the completion of a test to verify that the input circuit breaker is
operating correctly and is able to remove medium voltage within a specified timeframe.
• The test must be performed and successfully passed before the drive will be permitted to run.
The test must be run once initially and will rerun automatically any time the system opens the
input breaker. The result of the test is initially stored in nonvolatile memory and run every
time the ICB is opened. The test result is stored in the memory of the NXGPro+ control, so that
it does not need to be performed every time the system is repowered.
• If this test should ever fail, either manually or as a result of the ICB openjing, the drive will be
inhibted and will not be permitted to run. The "IPIT" status will be displayed on the drive tool
and keypad display indicating that test must be performed again, or some corrective action
of the ICB circuit may be necessary.
• This test must be performed and successfully passed if the NXGPro+ DCR rack is replaced.
