a.Inspect:
• Brake discs (front and rear)
Galling/damage ➔
Replace.

9.Measure:
• Brake disc deflection
Out of specification
Adjust or replace.
Brake disc maximum deflection:
Front: 0.1 mm (0.004 in)
Rear: 0.15 mm (0.006 in)

Measurement steps:
• Use a suitable stand to raise the wheel.
• When measuring the front brake disc, turn
the handlebars to the left or the right to
ensure that the front wheel is stationary.
• Remove the caliper.
• Hold the dial gauge at a right angle
against the disc surface. Measure the
deflection at a point 2
~
3 mm below the
edge of the brake disc.

Measure at a few different areas on the disc.
Out of specification
Replace.
Brake disc minimum thickness:
Front: 4.5 mm (0.18 in)
Rear: 5.5 mm (0.22 in)

10.Adjust:
• Brake disc deflection

Adjustment steps:
• Remove the brake disc(s) from the wheel.
• Adjust the brake disc installation position.
• Install the brake disc(s) to the wheel.
NOTE:
Tighten the brake disc bolts in stages using
a crisscross pattern.
Bolt (brake disc):
23 Nm (2.3 m • kg, 17
ft•
lb)
LOCTITE®
• Measure the brake disc deflection.
