Static electricity damage
Wear a wrist strap that connects to the wrist-strap grounding
point to handle circuit cards. The wrist-strap grounding point
is on a frame supervisory panel (FSP) or a modular
supervisory panel (MSP). The wrist strap protects the cards
against static electricity damage.
DANGER
Potential equipment damage
Note the fuses that you remove from the fuse panel. If you
do not insert fuses in the correct location on the fuse panel,
equipment damage occurs.

Take these precautions when removing or inserting a card:
1. Do not apply direct pressure to the components.
2. Do not force the card into its slot.
Remove fuses for the line drawer containing the faulty DBIC. Perform the
following steps. Refer to the figure that follows to identify the correct fuses.
Note: Fuse markings do not always identify voltage. Make sure that you
note the fuses and the location of the fuses in the fuse panel.

Remove the -48V fuse for the line drawer that contains the faulty DBIC.

Remove the +15V fuse for the line drawer that contains the faulty DBIC.

Remove the +5V fuse for the line drawer that contains the faulty DBIC.
