Change Object Definition
Skip this procedure if the customer does not wish to change the names of the CPC's and go to
"Customizing Date/Time (Support Element)" on page 6-13.
1 Selecting the options
From the Hardware Management Console
Workplace panel.
1. Open Task List from the Views area
2. Open Object Definition from the Task List
Work Area
3. Open Groups from the Views area
4. Open Defined CPC's from the Groups
Work Area
5. Select all the CPC's you want to customize
at one time.
6. Drag and drop the selected objects on
Change Object Definition in the
Configuration area.
2 Selecting the system
The CPC Configuration Information panel displays.
Important
Refer to the corresponding pages in the
Resource Link WEB Site for the data that you
will enter on these panels.
Note: If you select multiple objects, use the
mouse to select the one you want.
1. Type in the new CPC name in the CPC
name field.
2. Select Save.
The Change Object Definition Task
Confirmation panel displays.
3. Select Yes.
Repeat this step for each system you want
to rename. Allow enough time for each
Support Element to re-boot. Change the
labels on the Support Element and CPC to
match the new name or number that you
assigned to it.
