5 Connecting the 7060 String('s) to an existing LAN
See the figure at the bottom of this page for and example of using the MID port for connecting multiple
HUBs together. A rule for cascading HUBs is MID to X.
If you are intending to manage the 7060 with upgraded Hardware Management Console The 7060 String
can be configured into a existing LAN with the Hardware Management Console that will be upgraded to
the latest MICRO CODE level.
All 8242/HUB Units must be cabled together to form a LAN (Local Area Network) as shown in the drawing
below.
1. Locate the LAN cable(s). These cables are customer ordered dependent on the floor layout.
2. Connect the LAN cable to the MID port of the first HUB. an available port of the next HUB in the
ring.
3. Repeat this sequence until all HUB(s) are cabled together in a series.
