3 Token-Ring Adapter Configuration.
1. Select IBM Token-Ring PCI Family
Adapter from the Network Adapter list.
2. Select Add button under the Network
Adapter list.
3. Select IBM Token-Ring PCI Family
Adapter from the Current Configuration
list.
4. Select Edit button under the Current
Configuration list.
5. Insure that PCI adapter network data rate
is set to M16.
6. Select OK
7. Go to step 4 Protocol Configuration.
4 Protocol Configuration.
1. Select IBM IEEE 802.2 from the Protocols
list.
2. Select Add button under the Protocols list.
3. Select IBM OS/2 NETBIOS from the
Protocols list.
4. Select Add button under the Protocols list.
5. Select IBM TCP/IP from the Protocols list.
6. Select Add button under the Protocols list.
5 IBM IEEE 802.2 Configuration.
1. Select IBM IEEE 802.2 from the Current
Configuration list.
2. Select Edit button under the Current
Configuration list.
3. Change the Maximum link stations to 250
4. Select OK from the Parameters for IBM
IEEE 802.2 panel.
5. Select OK from the Adapter and Protocol
Configuration
6. If making a second network connection to a
Hardware Management Console return to
step 2.
6 Completing Adapter Configuration.
1. Select Close from the Configure panel.
2. Select Exit from the Multi-Protocol
Transport Services panel.
3. Select Exit from the Update CONFIG.SYS
panel.
4. Select OK from the CONFIG.SYS Updated
panel.
5. Select Exit from the Exiting MPTS panel.

Installing the System
Note: When configuring multiple adapters of the
same type the operating system detects the
adapters according to their plugged location
lowest to highest. Example: If you have
multiple IBM Token-Ring PCI Family
Adapters plugged at LG09, LG10, LG11
and LG12 the first adapter to be configured
would be in LG09.
Note: Record the adapter number displayed in
front of the protocols you just added to the current
configuration and the plug location (LGxx) of the
adapter you will need it later in this publication.
