2 Customizing Dialing Information
1. Select the Hardware Management Console
Logon panel.
2. Type SERVICE in the User identification
field.
3. Press the tab key to move the cursor to the
next field.
4. Type SERVMODE in the Password field.
5. Select Log on.
The Hardware Management Console

From the Hardware Management Console
Workplace panel.
6. Open Console Actions from the Views
area
7. Open Customize Dialing Information from
the Console Actions Work Area and fill in
the fields.
8. Activate Enable remote service
9. Activate Authorize automatic service call
reporting only if the customer wants this
option. The customer must decide if he
wants to allow automatic service call
reporting. Refer to the help panel if
necessary for more information.

If the phone line requires blind dialing, a B
|
should be inserted at the Dial prefix input
|
field.
If the phone line requires pulse dialing, a P
should be inserted at the Dial prefix input
field.
10. If a prefix is needed to get an outside line
that prefix should be inserted at the Dial
prefix input field and after the Dial prefix P
if pulse dialing is required.
11. Select communication protocol based on
modem configuration performed at 3-4
Synchronous(SNA)
Asynchronous(TCP/IP)
12. (Synchronous only) Select CRN or CRI in
the Dialing String prefix field.
Note: A calling station identifier is required
in countries using the CRI prefix.
Use the help button for further
explanation.
13. When complete select Next.
Note: When a Dialing prefix is added here it is
not necessary to add the prefix to any other
dialing strings requested on the following
window. Example P9,. Pulse (P) dialing is
required and the dialing string prefix 9 is
used to get to an outside line. The comma
is used to delay dialing between the 9 and
the phone number.
