3 Reporting the installation
Be certain to record installation time against each
machine type/serial that you installed.
Refer to Service Guide, SY24-6160 and close all
open problems before turning the system over to
the customer.
Determine the reporting system. If this is a new
install with it's own Hardware Management Console
complete the report using the following procedure
from the Hardware Management Console. If this
system does not have a Hardware Management
Console complete the report from the Support
Element. Go to Reporting from the Support
Element on page 6-76
From the Hardware Management Console
Workplace panel.
1. Open Console Actions from the Views
area
2. Open Installation Complete Report from
the Console Actions Work Area
3. Fill in the appropriate fields.
4. Select OK when complete.
Note: If more than one report is required
over type the first report after
selecting OK to complete the report.
Repeat this action until all reports
are filed.
Open Transmit Console Service Data
from the Console Actions Work Area
5. Select Hardware Management Console
Events
6. Select Hardware Management Console
error logs
7. Select Hardware Management Console
console logs before compression
8. Select IBM service support system.
Note: If proper telecommunications
equipment is not available, also
select Installation Complete Report,
then choose either diskette or
optical cartridge.
9. Input the PMH number for the install.
10. Select Send
Continue at Step 6 RSF testing. on page 6-77
Note: If you do not have the proper
telecommunications equipment defined to
send the service data to the IBM* service
support system or if the customer does not
authorize you to use this facility, send the
diskette or optical cartridge to IBM* in the
envelope provided. CE INSTALLATION IS
COMPLETE.
