Installing a New Hardware Management Console

1 Setting up the units
1. Open and unpack the ship box that
contains the Hardware Management
Console.
This box also contains the cables, the
modem for the Remote Facility, (the
customer may have to supply his own
modem in some countries) and
documentation. For those countries with
modems requiring metric screws, screws
have been provided P/N 37H9729.
Remove the thumbscrews from the 25 pin
"D" shell and replace with metric screws
provided.
Note: The Hardware Management
Console shown is only an example
your Hardware Management
Console may be a different model
than the one depicted. You will
need to adjust your cable plugging
to the model you are installing.
2. Store the Hardware Management Console
documentation, the key, and the
documentation for the modem in a area
near the console for future service use.
2 Connecting the keyboard
1. Connect the keyboard cable to the
keyboard connection at the rear of the
system unit. You will find a keyboard
symbol defining the correct plug location.
Note: Although not recommended some models
can be floor mounted if provided with the
mounting foot. Consult console
documentation for installation.
