3 Additional Hardware Management Console
If adding a new Hardware Management Console to
an existing DOMAIN it will be necessary to perform
the following to change the default Hardware
Management Console name and TCPIP
addressing. Once the new Hardware Management
Console has been configured into the DOMAIN the
installation can continue using the new Hardware
Management Console.
Additional Hardware Management Console will
more than likely be at different locations. Perform
the following steps before attempting to use or
update code at these locations
When the Hardware Management Console Logon
panel displays.
1. Type ACSADMIN in the User
identification field.
2. Press the tab key to move the cursor to the
next field.
3. Type PASSWORD in the Password field.
4. Select Log on.
The Hardware Management Console
Workplace panel displays.
5. Open Console Actions from the Views
Area.
6. Open Hardware Management Console
settings from the Console Actions Work
Area.
7. Ensure that all TCPIP addresses and SNA
names are unique.
8. Select Enable
9. Enter a IP address. The factory default
setting for the primary LAN adapter is
9.130.1.* (* being unique for each
Hardware Management Console and
Support Element) in the ring. This field can
be replaced with a customer IP address.
10. Enter a network mask. The factory default
setting for the primary LAN adapter is
255.255.255.0 this field can be replaced
with the customers network mask.
11. If configuring a second LAN adapter 1
connection enter a unique IP address in the
second adapter field. The network mask is
the same as LAN adapter 0.
12. Select Apply
13. Select Logoff from the Console Actions
Work Area.
14. Select Shutdown from the OS2 LaunchPad.
15. Press Alt+Ctrl+Del keys after shutdown
completes to apply the changes.
16. Continue the installation using the focal point
Hardware Management Console.
Sample names HMC2, HMC3 amd HMC4
TCPIP device addressing must be as follows. The
subnet must be the same for all devices both
Hardware Management Console's and Support
Element's. The individual device address must be
unique. sample address 9.130.1.1 sample
address 9.130.1.2
must be the same
