| 10 Disconnecting Customer Cables

1. Before continuing read Caution Information
|
on page 6-31
|
2. Disconnect all ESCON Fiber Optic cables
|
from the channel cards (refer to page
|
6-32).
|
Install dust protectors in all fiber optic
|
ports when a cable is removed.
|
3. Disconnect all OSA-2 cables from ENTR,
|
FDDI, ATM or FENET cards (refer to
|
"Installing Emulated I/O cables" on
|
page 6-34).
|
Install wrap plugs in all OSA-2 ports
|
when a cable is removed.
|
4. If the system has Parallel Channel (CH4P)
|
cards disconnect the parallel channel
|
cables from the CH4P cards (refer to
|
"Installing Parallel Channel Cables" on
|
page 6-33).
|
5. Disconnect UEPO cables from the UEPO
|
panel connector J3 if installed. Route the
|
cables back into the adjacent frame (refer
|
to page 1-9).
|
6. Disconnect the LAN between frames (refer
|
to page 1-12).

|
Perform the following only when
|
discontinuing multiple frame systems.
|
1. Disconnect STI cables between frames (if
|
present). (refer to page 1-15).
|
2. Disconnect USI cables between frames (if
|
present). (refer to page 1-15).
|
3. Disconnect Power Signal cables between
|
frames (if present). (refer to page 1-15 or
|
1-18).
|
4. Disconnect SSA Signal and Loop cables
|
between frames (if present). (refer to page
|
1-15 or 1-18).
|
Package cables to be shipped.
|
Tie cables in that frame before
|
shipping.
