Chapter 2. Installing the I/O and Support Processor

1 Setting up the units
1. Open and unpack the ship box that
contains the I/O and Support Processor
monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speaker.
This box also contains the cables, and
modem for the Remote Facility, (the
customer may have to supply his own
modem in some countries) and
documentation. For those countries with
modems requiring metric screws, screws
have been provided P/N 37H9729.
Remove the thumbscrews from the 25 pin
"D" shell and replace with metric screws
provided.
2. Store the documentation for the modem in
a area near the console for future service
use.
2 Connecting the keyboard
1. Connect the Y keyboard (gray) and mouse
(green) cable to the keyboard and mouse
connection at the rear of the system unit at
LG18-J4 and LG18-J9
3 Connecting the mouse
1. Connect the mouse to the mouse
connection at the rear of the keyboard.
4 Connecting the display
1. Connect the display signal cable to the
display connection at the rear of the system
unit at LG18-J15
5 Connecting the speaker
1. Assemble the speaker hanging bracket and
attach to the side of the display.
2. Connect the speaker cable to the system
unit at LG17-J5 and connect power USB
(Universal Serial Bus) connection to
LG17-USB0-J17.
