2 LAN adapter configuration.
Hardware Management Console LAN adapters can
be Token-Ring or Ethernet.

If adding this console to an existing LAN use
Additional Hardware Management Console on
page 6-3 to change the IP address of default LAN
adapter 0.
If you wish to use the secondary EtherNet
connection as a second LAN connection or to
replace the default adapter you will need to
manually configure the LAN adapter 1.
If replacing the default token-ring LAN adapter 0
with the EtherNet connection as the primary LAN
connection insure that you have installed wrap plug
(part 6165899) in the token-ring adapter you will
configure LAN adapter 1 for the Ethernet
connection.
1. Log off and log on as ACSADMIN
2. Type ACSADMIN in the User
identification field.
3. Press the tab key to move the cursor to the
next field.
4. Type PASSWORD in the Password field.
5. Select Log on.
The Hardware Management Console
Workplace panel displays.
6. Open Console Actions from the Views
Area.
7. Open Hardware Management Console
Settings from the Console Actions Work
Area.

8. Select Enable
9. Enter a IP address. The factory default
setting for the primary LAN adapter is
9.130.1.* (* being unique for each Hardware
Management Console and Support Element)
in the ring. This field can be replaced with a
customer IP address.
10. Enter a network mask. The factory default
setting for the primary LAN adapter is
255.255.255.0 this field can be replaced with
the customers network mask.
11. If configuring a second LAN adapter 1
connection enter a unique IP address in the
second adapter field. The network mask is
the same as LAN adapter 0.
12. Select Apply
13. Select Logoff from the Console Actions
Work Area.
14. Select Shutdown from the OS/2 LaunchPad.
15. Press Alt+Ctrl+Del keys after shutdown
completes to apply the changes.
16. Continue the installation using the focal point
Hardware Management Console.
