Screw

longest threaded end of ball
joint
into the tie
rod
,
ensure that half of th

total number
of threads are
inserted

the
tie
rod
.
The
cut-off
section
of
the tie
rod
end must
run
parallel
with the
horizontal
line
of the steering arm
w
hen
assem-
bled
on
ve
h1cle.
Th
e
tie
rod
end should be restra1ned
when
tightening
tie
rod end lock nut. For
torque specifi-
cations
see
illustrations.

At assembly, clean all threads

shaft
using appropriate

bolt. Tighten

applicable, remove
the
steering clamp

nuts
holding
the
handlebar to the
steering
column

Tighten nuts to
the specified
torque.
